Child-Centred Diagnostic Assessment

We are proud to provide diagnostic assessments that address the unique strengths, as well as challenges, of every child we have the privilege of working with. You can be sure that your child's voice will be heard, including their own insights into how they learn, and any areas for which they would like specific support, moving forwards. We are continuously working to ensure that our diagnostic reports meet the highest and most up-to-date criteria for best practice. As specialist teachers, who work to support dyslexic learners with their learning week in and week out, we are well placed to make informed and effective recommendations for onward support. All assessments are delivered face-to-face, as we feel that this provides the most reliable results, and a diagnostic decision that you can have confidence in.

A Different Kind of Teaching

At Faversham Dyslexia, our 1:1 lessons are tailored to your child. We work to support specific areas of dyslexic challenge, engaging with your child's interests to ensure high levels of engagement. We have an excellently resourced teaching studio, with access to a wide range of multi-sensory learning resources. For each pupil, we develop a personalised, highly structured learning programme, with clear learning targets for each term. Within this, we are able to dip into different teaching programmes as required, to ensure that learning is tailored and responsive. Our students are encouraged to take an active role in choosing topics and resources in lessons, to encourage a   self-starting approach to learning.

Specialist Support for SEN Teams

As well as working from our studio, we are proud to work on-site with a range of local secondary schools. Our training options range from whole-school sessions to individual training for members of the SEN team. As well as providing training focused on the classroom, we are able to advise on ever-changing regulations in areas such as exam access arrangements, to support schools in meeting the highest regulatory standards with confidence. We approach our work with a long-term view, building strong professional relationships,  to support ongoing development and improvement.
